26th October 2008...

Its almost 3 months since I painted the base, but it looked a bit too clean so a bit of weathering later and it looks older and a but bashed on the edges...

3rd August 2008...

Finally got round to painting the base, used a mix of black and silver Hammerite to give it a galvanised look. Also added the allen head bolts around the sloping panels.

11th May 2008...

Time for the finishing touches to the paintwork - time to make Dalek look battle beaten... Using a kitchen sourer, I carefully air-brushed the main body sections and then rubbed it back, and then the slats to give Dalek a dirty appearance...

Click here to see what else I did today...

6th May 2008...

Painted the slats using Ford Olympic Gold, same paint as the hemis... Each slat has exactly the same imperfections [obviously] but some weathering will made them more individual...

4th May 2008...

Undercoated the slats...

7th April 2008...

All dry, time to put Dalek together...

6th April 2008...

More painting and an industrial mask to stop me passing out..! Dalek now has painted head, cowl, eye cages, neck, shoulders, gun-box detail, neck blocks & skirt hemispheres... The body colour is Ford Aztec Bronze with Ford Arizona Gold blown over. The hemispheres and gun box surrounds are Ford Olympic Gold, again blown over with Ford Arizona Gold.

The skirt and hemisphere surrounds will be painted in the next few days, with some matt black for the inside of the neck and dome, followed by general weathering to make Dalek look a bit battered...
